The Nike Air Max 97 Comme Des Garcons Homme Plus Black celebrates the 25th anniversary of the Air Max with a collaboration between CDG, the Paris-based Tokyo fashion brand, and Nike.
The Nike Air Max 97’s classic wavy upper in the Black/Metallic Black colorway of this collaboration with Comme Des Garçons is constructed of opaque black mesh overlaid with faded-look metallic black leather. Opaque black appears again on the dual-branded insoles, Nike-branded mesh sockliner and tongue. The heel tab sports Air Max branding, and a Nike logo appears at the midfoot above the mudguard on both the medial and lateral sides.
What we like most about this sneaker is the reliability of the sole. The glossy black midsole houses a full-length Nike Air Max unit atop a black rubber outsole with a highlighted Nike logo on the heel. The Nike Air Max 97 Comme Des Garcons Homme Plus Black released on September 22, 2022 for $350 retail.
