The Nike Air Max 1 Bred takes a classic Tinker Hatfield design that burst onto the sneaker scene in 1987, streamlines the look and dresses it up in a dark color scheme with subtle hints of shine.

This iteration of the Air Max 1 is built on a lightweight, tightly woven mesh upper base in an anthracite hue. Deep black suede forms the overlays that run throughout this upper, while anthracite leather forms the iconic Nike swoosh on the lateral panel. Red embroidered Nike Air Max branding hits the heel, while red branding also adorns the black tongue label. A red embroidered Nike swoosh accents the lateral toe box. An anthracite foam midsole provides cushioning and houses a visible Air cassette beneath the heel. The black rubber outsole has modified waffle lugs to absorb shock and provide grip with every step.

Our favorite detail about this pair of sneakers is the red tint on the Air unit, which ties together the black and red or "bred" look of the shoe. The Nike Air Max 1 Bred released on December 19, 2023 for a retail price of $150.
