The most recognizable figure in all of KAWS's work, the Companion has appeared in many different iterations and in several different media over the years. After recent growing demand, KAWS released an entire series of six different companions that included full-bodied and skinned versions of the classic character. The collection was launched in November 2016 in conjunction with her "Where The End Starts" exhibition in Fort Worth, Texas. The figures were published through KAWSONE, MoMA and the Fort Worth Museum of Modern Art and measure 11 inches tall. Collectors picked up these companions quickly, even though these are their most widely released figures in years. This KAWS Open Edition Flayed Companion in black features an open body design with neon interior colors and a solid black exterior, and comes sealed in a clear blister pack.
