The adidas Fear of God Athletics I Basketball Carbon Sesame is part of an ongoing collaboration between adidas and Los Angeles-based apparel brand Fear of God.

Created by Jerry Lorenzo, these hybrid basketball shoes feature a minimalist aesthetic and the designer’s signature muted tones. For example, the woven upper and neoprene collar come in Carbon, while the toe box and exaggerated rubber outsole feature Off-White Sesame. Paying homage to adidas heritage, the side panels display the 3-Stripes logo made from plastic-like material. Rather than serving as a simple logo, the 3-Stripes form a lace cage that houses durable carbon laces.

Something our playtesters like about this sneaker is the lack of overt branding. For example, aside from the 3-Stripes logo, the only branding is a small patch on the heel that reads "fear of God." The adidas Fear of God Athletics I Basketball Carbon Sesame was released on December 3, 2023
