Travis Scott arrived in Boston representing the colors of the city
The Boston Celtics have raced to a 2-0 lead in the NBA Finals, and while their success on the biggest stage is undoubtedly the main story in most places, for us the intrigue lies elsewhere. “Celebrity Row” brought a surprising update to the world of Travis Scott shoes. The Houston rapper was photographed sporting a new edition of his Jordan Jumpman Jack, dominated by the black and green of the Celtics.
While the emerald hues front and center on this shoe are certainly fitting for the occasion, that design choice presents something of a curveball in La Flame’s lineage. His neutral-toned takes on the Air Jordan 1 are well-documented at this point, but even on the Jumpman Jack, an edition devoid of any earthy tones is noteworthy. There’s a material change, too; luxe suede marks the underlays, typically comprised of mesh on both previous releases and those we got an early preview of.
It’s not entirely clear whether this is a sample pair provided or conceived by La Flame, or if it’s a preview of a colorway that will hit shelves later in the shoe’s run. It’s almost certain that Jordan Jumpman Jack “Mocha” and Jordan Jumpman Jack “Thunder” releases will precede this pair, which would leave the potential debut of this edition a bit further down the road anyway.
Continuing with the Jordan 2024 release date schedule, the Air Jordan 4 “Oxidized Green” and Nina Chanel Abney Jordan 3 highlight the upcoming slate.
